You have a spot on your beard that just won't grow in. You've tried everything. oil on it leave it for a while change to bottles.. And every time you look in the mirror, that same bare strip stares back at you. It starts to feel like that's how your body is built.
What most people don't realise is that a non-growing follicle isn't dead. Most of the time it just sits. No. Something around it, like inflammation, poor blood flow or hormone sensitivity is keeping it that way. The real problems are always the environment around the beard follicles. People love to blame the actual follicle.
Four ingredients. Castor oil, Rosemary oil, Pumpkin seed oil, and Peppermint oil. That directly address these causes. Each of these ingredients is used to resolve a problem that prevents a patch of beard from growing. What is truly happening under that spot. What is fixing it? One of the four ingredients?
If you look closely under a patch of skin it is often a little redder or rougher than the rest of your jaw. And it's not just because your skin is a little uneven. This is because there is a build up of skin, sebum and product sitting on top of the follicle physically blocking it.
The anti-inflammatory agents contained in castor oil help to break down that buildup. You may rinse the area with water for 15 seconds. Then, massage 3-4 drops of castor oil on your fingertips for 30 seconds. Try this for 6 weeks every night before you make a decision on if it's working. This is the slowest of the 4 ingredients to show results because it is clearing a blockage first not stimulating growth
You'll often find that a patch on your beard that's not growing is colder in the morning than the rest of your jawline. This is no illusion. This means that there is more blood going to that area of skin than to the surrounding area.
Blood is required for beard follicles to survive. Usually a spot that's been undersupplied for a while. Studies have been done on oil as a potential cure to improve circulation. Blend 3 drops of oil with 1 teaspoon carrier oil such as jojoba and massage into the area for 60 seconds. Do this every day for 8 weeks. It works by promoting the expansion of blood vessels around the follicle, increasing the flow of oxygen and nutrients to a follicle.
Some guys have a skin and regular circulation. They still can't get a patch of beard to grow. This is usually because of hormone sensitivity if the first two reasons are not present.
Androgen receptors in beard follicles of people may be sensitive to dihydrotestosterone, a by-product of testosterone that shrinks and kills the follicles. Here is what some hair loss on the scalp can look like on the face.
There is some evidence that pumpkin seed oil might blunt the effect of the DHTs. You can apply 5 drops of pumpkin seed oil directly to the patch, nightly. You can also take the oil from the seeds. 400 mg, 1 capsule daily. Research has examined the internal dose for hair outcomes and topical use supports it locally. This is the ingredient that takes the longest out of the four to show results so give it 12 weeks before deciding if it works.
Some follicles are otherwise good. It just needs a wake up call, which the other three ingredients do on their own. Peppermint oil activates a skin receptor to create a cooling effect. It also has the effect of increasing the blood flow.
You can mix 3-4 drops of peppermint oil with 1 ounce of a carrier oil. Rub in for 45 secs. Use it each night. Of the four peppermint oil is most likely to irritate skin with use.
These four ingredients are not the same. They solve four problems and the difficult patches cover than one. You can use castor oil every night for 6 weeks to get rid of the inflammation and buildup. Add oil on every night for circulation. Apply pumpkin seed oil every night with capsule for hormone sensitivity. Use peppermint oil every night once your skin has tolerated the other oils.
Stage by stage: redness in 2 to 3 weeks new hairs around 6 to 8 weeks if the beard follicles are responding, visible thickening, the kind you would notice without looking for it 12 weeks in line with how seed oils DHT effect builds over time.
This procedure won't affect a follicle that was never formed or one that has been lost to alopecia. Those need a dermatologist, not a regimen. It is the case for what it's dormant not dead patch suppressed by inflammation, poor circulation or hormone sensitivity rather than genetics that decided it in advance.
That streak you see in the mirror it's not forever. It's usually just a matter of waiting for the signal to start growing.
Typical beard oils simply condition the beard hair you already have. They do not encourage growth. Castor oil, oil, pumpkin seed oil and peppermint oil are the ones that have some evidence behind them to stimulate dormant beard follicles.
You can use castor oil, oil and pumpkin seed oil every night. Peppermint oil is most effective at night. More likely to cause skin irritation when used daily.
Once your skin can handle them on their own they are fine together but introduce one at a time so you know which oil is to blame if any irritation pops up.
Most people find daily use irritating, so every other night is best.
Within 2-3 weeks you will usually see the sign of inflammation. Up to 12 weeks thickening. Fine new hair normally begins to grow in at 6 to 8 weeks.
Studies of hair outcomes used a dose of 400 mg/day. It is normally safe for the adults. First, check with your doctor if you are on medication or have a condition.
As a general rule a mixture of these four oils in a dark glass bottle kept away from heat and light will keep for three to four months. When the smell changes or the colour darkens, the bath is ready.
A. No. This routine is intended to wake up hair follicles that are being suppressed by inflammation, poor circulation or hormone sensitivity and not hair follicles that are affected by alopecia or hair follicles that never developed. These need a dermatologist.
